Ozon, a major marketplace, announced an increase in commissions and a change in the terms of product placement for sellers. The new rules will take effect on October 27.

Starting from October 27, the Ozon marketplace will introduce changes to the commission structure and product placement conditions for sellers operating under the FBO, FBS and realFBS schemes. The main innovation is a 4% increase in the tariff for sales in most product categories. However, for low-cost items, the company decided to keep the same rates: 14% for goods worth up to 100 rubles and 20% for goods up to 300 rubles.

The principles of charging fees for accommodation will also be changed. Now it will depend not on the type of warehouse, but on the characteristics of the product itself. This innovation will replace the current model, where the fee depended on whether the product was placed in a regular or large warehouse.

The company will also update its free storage days policy. Depending on the product category, sellers will be provided with the following periods of accommodation without payment:
- regular items — from 120 to 365 days;
- bulky — from 30 to 92 days;
- fire-hazardous — up to 60 days.

After the end of the free period, a daily fee will be charged: 1.5 rubles for ordinary goods, 0.07 rubles for bulky goods and 0.4 rubles for fire-hazardous categories.

In addition, Ozon will increase the share of discounts provided at the expense of the site itself — also by 4%. This will increase the attractiveness of products to customers without reducing the income of sellers: the marketplace promises to compensate for all the difference with bonus points.

These changes are part of Ozon's strategy to strengthen competitiveness and enhance end—user service. However, for many sellers, an upgrade may mean higher costs and the need to review pricing policies.
