Russia has approved an updated national standard for commercial and warehouse infrastructure - warehouses, pick—up points and hypermarkets. The new GOST sets requirements for the location, area, equipment and safety of facilities. These are new basic standards for importers who rent or build logistics for marketplaces.

The trade and warehouse infrastructure in Russia is growing faster than the standards are being updated. The last time GOST in this area changed significantly was several years ago. An updated version has now been adopted, taking into account the realities of the marketplace economy: separate requirements are prescribed specifically for order pick—up points - as a new mass format of the trading infrastructure.

GOST sets requirements for several blocks. The first is location and area: minimum parameters for different types of objects, zoning requirements. The second is equipment and facilities: shelving, storage areas, temperature conditions, and security systems. The third is accessibility: requirements for entrance groups, navigation, and organizing the flow of customers and clients.

The standard is especially relevant for PVZ. Over the past three years, marketplaces have opened tens of thousands of delivery points across the country — in many cases without clear requirements for the premises. Now there is a document that you can rely on when designing, renting and accepting premises.

For importers who are building their own warehouse infrastructure or renting space for storing goods for marketplaces, the new GOST is the minimum standards of compliance. When concluding lease agreements, you can now refer to a specific standard. When accepting new areas, check compliance before signing.
